VITAFOAM DONATES TO FIRST BABY OF THE YEAR

VITAFOAM Nig. Plc has donated products to the first baby of the year at the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital, Lagos on January 1, 2011.

'The baby factory' as the hospital is fondly called, welcomed the management of Vitafoam led by the Head of Human Resources, Mr. Akin Oladiran and other members of staff, who were present to celebrate the new arrival.

The baby of the year born to Mr. and Mrs. Aliu weighing 2.9 kilogrammes arrived at 12.15am and turned out to be a female. The second and third babies of the year arrived some few minutes later.

Products ranging from baby cots, baby mattresses, changing mats and breastfeeding pillows were presented to the mother while the hospital management was presented with hospital mattresses, pillows, travel pillows, among others.

Oladiran said as part of her Corporate Social Responsibility, the company gave the baby comfort and to assure her that the world is a comfortable place.

According to him, 'we are here to share the joy of the new arrival with the parents and to give them a soft landing by donating various products that will take care of them.'

Responding on behalf of the hospital management, the Chairman, Hospital Board, Lagos Island Maternity, Dr. Abiola Balogun said the hospital was grateful for the company's support over the years, not only to the first baby, but also to the hospital.

She encouraged the company to take a more active role in the hospital now that the hospital had been accredited to train Post Graduate doctors.

'We are counting on Vitafoam to care and help in the training of the doctors and we will be calling you in so many ways for sponsorship,' she said.
