IBB THREATENS TO QUIT PDP…URGES NWODO TO ENFORCE ZONING – NO! NO!! NO!!! THAT IS NOT THE BEST OPTION AS IT MEANS FALLING INTO THE PLOY OF GEJ AND OBJ PLOT AND ANNIHILATION OF ALL THAT THE FOUNDING FATHERS OF PDP STOOD FOR – TURAKI VANGUARD

By Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze

The contents of the historical and patriotic letter from the former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and one of the leading Presidential Candidates of PDP, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida to the National Chairman of our great party though very clear and acceptable to us as it contains our stand on the need of the Dr Nwodo led PDP to bar President Jonathan from contesting the primaries of PDP in respect to the constitution of the party and most importantly in respect to the recent ruling of the High Court that zoning is contained in the party's constitution and is binding on all members of the party. But we are totally disagreeing on the threat by General IBB to resign from the party if members are not to abide by the constitution of the party. As much as we support any move to right the injustice being contemplated against the North and all those that respects due process and rule of law by the refusal of President Jonathan and his promoters to allow the North complete their four tenure as stipulated by the constitution of the party we will not approve or support any move that a high ranking founding father of PDP like General Babangida to be forced out of the party by some unprincipled and undemocratic elements within the party as allowing them to achieve that means allowing tenants within the party to push out the landlords that built the party and sadly imposing on Nigerians once again an unprepared President.

In this regard we wish to appeal to General Babangida to recant his intention and stay put in the party and assists to salvage the party from the undemocratic principles that have hijacked the party. Let us reiterate and assure the General and others that may have the fears of the likely emergence of President Jonathan as the flag-bearer of the party in the 2011 general election that such thinking is misplaced as we are ever ready to dust President Jonathan and place him at his right place within the rank where he rightly belongs during the primaries. We have done our home works and we are very convinced that the PDP delegates not minding the obvious threats and obstacles being put on their ways will be men enough to do the right thing and save the party from disintegration by ensuring that the North serves out their tenure.

We note with sadness the unprofessional reaction from the camp of Mr. President to a message from a high ranking member of the party like General Babangida urging him to accept the unfortunate stand of disregard to the party's constitution or leave the party. This shows how desperate the President and his promoters are in a game they knew that they will lose at the end.

Considering our past experiences of having unprepared Presidents ruling this country we are more guided this time around to save Nigerians from the presidency of unprepared President Jonathan. If the recent stand of the Special Assistant to Mr. President on Research and Documentation, Oronto Douglas is anything to go by that “PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan is still keeping his agenda to his chest until he emerges the presidential candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)”. In support of this development is the stand of the leader of Save Nigeria Group, Pastor Tunde Bakare when he stated “that our grouse with Jonathan is that he goofed when the group asked him what his agenda was for Nigeria and he said he wouldn't promise anything as others have promised and failed. The SNG will not support Jonathan because he has violated our cardinal principle. If he doesn't amend that statement I'll campaign against him even in his own village”, Bakare emphasized.

We should join hands with Save Nigeria Group and save our country from the hands of this man without any idea or plan for our country.
