Obi promises Jonathan Delta's full support

The acting governor of Delta State Prince Sam Obi has promised that Delta State will give the Jonathan Sambo ticket a hundred percent support during the PDP primaries.

Prince Obi who was speaking when the Jonathan Sambo campaign organization led by Dr. Dahaltu Tafida paid him a courtesy call in Asaba said there was no need for the campaign organization to canvass for support in the state because Delta State was solidly behind president Jonathan.

He said there was nothing that will prevent Delta State from not supporting the Jonathan/Sambo ticket explaining that Jonathan was not only humble, humane sincere and credible but God fearing.

His words “I say come rain, come sun, Delta will support the Jonathan/Sambo ticket. We know Jonathan to be humble and we know him to be sincere. We cannot doubt him.”

Describing the Jonathan Sambo ticket as divinely arranged, the acting governor said he was optimistic that they will sweep the primaries.

Prince Obi said solid foundation has been laid in the state for the return of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and for the election of President Jonathan for the second term.

He praised the organization for its untiring effort in preaching the Jonathan Sambo gospel but regretted that the body has taken the better part of the state PDP job on the primaries from it.

In his remark the director general of the Jonathan Sambo ticket Dr. Dahaltu Tafida appealed to Deltans to give total support to the Jonathan ticket because he will not disappoint them.

Dr. Tafida said the Niger Delta has a special history especially in coming to the rescue of big parties in the country.

 
He said President Jonathan was a humble man who believes in justice and fair play and gave assurance that President Jonathan will transform the Niger Delta when he wins.

The director general explained that the president was not playing sectional politics but was nationalistic in outlook.

He commended Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for the infrastructural development of the state.

Dr. Tafida said he observed that there were no pot holes on most of the roads he passed through to Asaba.

He explained that the good motorable roads showed the excellent performance of Dr. Uduaghan and urged Deltans to vote for him in the rerun election.

In another development the Jonathan Sambo organization has appealed to traditional rulers in the state to pray for Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to enable him come out tops in the PDP primaries.

Making the call at a meeting with traditional rulers in Asaba Dr. Tafida said he recognized the non partisan role of royal fathers and was therefore soliciting for only their prayers.

He also enjoined them to pray for Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan to enable him win the rerun election.

In his remarks, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan solicited for the support and prayers of the royal fathers for both himself and the Goodluck Jonathan/Sambo ticket in the primaries and election.

Dr. Uduaghan enjoined them to continue to pray for peace so that the state especially their various kingdoms will experience peace and security during the primaries and rerun election.

The Chairman Council of Traditional Rulers the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, Ogurimerime Okpara the 1st prayed for the Jonathan Sambo ticket and the rerun of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.

Ogurimerime said traditional rulers in the state were no partisan and as royal fathers will continue to pray for the political class for good governance.
