Uefa is to investigate Real Madrid over alleged improper conduct by coach Jose Mourinho and four players.

The charge against Mourinho, Xabi Alonso, Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas and Jerzy Dudek relates to Tuesday's 4-0 Champions League win over Ajax.

Ramos and Alonso both picked up second yellow cards for time-wasting late in the 4-0 win in Amsterdam.

That meant they would be banned for the final group game, rather than in the knock-out stage of the tournament.

After the game, Mourinho denied any wrongdoing, saying: “Stories sell, but the important thing is the 4-0 win and the fantastic game we had. Let's talk about that and not other things.”

The disciplinary hearing will take place on 30 November.    606: DEBATE

Uefa is also investigating the behaviour of the former coach of Romanian champions CFR Cluj.

Sorin Cartu, who was only appointed in September, was sacked on Thursday after smashing up the dugout during his team's 1-0 Champions League loss at FC Basel on Tuesday.

“Due to this unwanted gesture committed by Sorin Cartu we have decided to sack him from his current position,” stated club president Iuliu Muresan.

“We would like to give our most sincere apologies, first of all to Uefa, the host of the Champions League competition, to the Swiss club FC Basel, to our fans and to all football and sports fans.”
