EKITI EX-DEP. SPEAKER HAILS HOUSE OF REPS OVER STOPPAGE OF EKITI LGs ALLOCATION

By Lere Olayinka

Former Deputy Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Taiwo

Olatunbosun has hailed the House of Representatives for promptly

rising in condemnation of the illegal dissolution of Local Government

Councils in Ekiti State by the State Governor, Mr. Kayode Fayemi,

saying; “Members of the lower chamber of the National Assembly have

demonstrated that there are still people of integrity in Nigeria.”

Olatunbosun said in a statement made available to journalists in

Ado-Ekiti that; “Even a novice, except those jostling for appointments

or contracts from Fayemi knows that the dissolution is not only

illegal but an executive rascality.”
He called on the Senate to add its voice to the condemnation of the

illegalities being perpetrated in Ekiti by the Action Congress of

Nigeria (ACN) government, adding that; “Nigerians must rise in defence

of our constitution before these pretenders cause great havoc to our

nascent democracy.”
“The House of Representatives members have shown that there are still

honourable men and women with proven integrity in this country.

“By that resolution, they have shown Fayemi and his invading Lagos

Garrison Commander that the reign of falsehood cannot stand the test

of time.
“We are therefore glad that our National Assembly has once again taken

a bold and appropriate step to strengthen and sustained our hard

earned democracy by telling Fayemi the plain truth that he cannot sack

democratically elected Local Governments officials without recourse to

the House of Assembly.
“It should therefore be known to those that are urging Fayemi on that

the representatives of Ekiti people as constituted by the House of

Assembly and the elected council authorities will soon flush his

(Fayemi) locust regime out.”
The former Deputy Speaker, who described Fayemi and cohorts as

political tourist in Ekiti said; “Ekiti people will resist with

everything that they have the tyrannical rule being foisted on the

State by Fayemi.
“Nobody is afraid of his imported killers and militants from Lagos and

Niger Delta. The decision of our distinguished legislators both at

the National Assembly and state so far is commendable and with this

regime of confusion and illegalities, it has been shown that Ekiti

people never voted Fayemi. Rather, he got into government through a

black market judgment, which has now become an albatross.
