EPL: Amorim Bans Garnacho, Rashford, Sancho, Antony From Man Utd’s US Tour
Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has taken a bold step ahead of the club’s pre-season campaign by banning four first-team players from the upcoming U.S. tour.
The players affected are Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony. The quartet, all once considered core members of United’s attacking lineup, will be excluded from the pre-season squad and made to train alone at Carrington—if they fail to secure moves away from Old Trafford before the tour kicks off in July.
Amorim, who is preparing for his first full season in charge, is reportedly keen on rebuilding the team’s forward line following a disastrous campaign. United endured a humiliating finish to the 2024/25 Premier League season, ending in 15th place—their worst since their 1974 relegation. They also missed out on silverware, losing 1-0 to Tottenham in the Europa League final, and will be absent from European competitions next season.
Speaking about his vision for the team, Amorim is said to be aiming for a complete overhaul of the attack. The club has already begun its summer rebuild by signing Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha for £62.5 million and is strongly linked with Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
With tensions rising and speculation about dressing room dynamics, Amorim’s firm stance signals a no-nonsense approach as he looks to restore United’s former glory.
Fans are divided over the manager’s decision, but insiders claim the message is clear underperformance and indiscipline will no longer be tolerated at Old Trafford.
