Gibbs-White Gets England Call-Up for World Cup Qualifiers
Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has been added to England’s squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia at Wembley. The decision comes after fans questioned his initial omission, especially with Jordan Henderson earning a surprise recall at 34.
Gibbs-White has been a standout performer for Forest this season, playing a key role in their Champions League push with five goals and seven assists. His form has helped the club climb to third in the Premier League standings.
The 25-year-old, who won the U21 Euros with England in 2023 and has two senior caps, is likely replacing Cole Palmer, who missed Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal due to a muscle injury.
England kick off their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign at home against Albania on Friday before facing Latvia on March 24.
