Usyk Manager Unveils The Potential Match For Usyk After Fury
Unified heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk will be expected to show his versatility in a title defense match against the former heavyweight champion by December 21.
The Ukrainian boxer shocked the world when he threw Tyson Fury in May 2024 to claim the unified heavyweight title. The bout went on the course of 12 rounds, earning Usyk a split-decision victory in Saudi Arabia.
Surprisingly, Usyk who is on his 23 career unbeaten winning streak broke Fury 35 unbeaten streak. This has necessitated a rematch where the British boxer will be revenging his loss and reclaim his title.
Being confident of victory, Usyk Manager, Egis Klimas has informed the public about the potential match for Usyk after December 21 rematch with Fury. According to him, there will be no competitive contestants in his weight category after Fury except Daniel Dubois.
"When Oleksandr beats Tyson for the second time, there will be no more interesting boxers left in his weight category, except for Daniel Dubois. He is the IBF titleholder. Many people still remember the first fight and that controversial blow. It would be a perfect rematch, a fight for the title of absolute world champion.” Egis Klimas said.
Usyk and Dubois has once met in August 2023, and the Ukrainian boxer emerged as the vanquisher after rendering his opponent in a humiliation in a ninth-round finish. The bout had Uysk retain the IBF, IBO, and WBO world heavyweight championships.
