Ancelotti: “Last Time We Lost 0-4 To Barça, We Won La Liga And The Champions League”

Carlo Ancelotti has expressed confidence amidst defeat to Barcelona that Real Madrid will win La Liga and as well win champions League - citing the past experience of milestone achievements that accompany a similar loss to Barcelona.

Real Madrid were outplayed last night by Barcelona at Santiago Bernabéu. Despite the presence of the team's quality squard, yet they deservingly lost 4-0. In the first half, Madrid equally sized their opponent in a tight tic-tac game. Mbappé got couple of goals ruled out for offside. Vinicius also displayed his professionalism which in many times was stopped by Barcelona's strong defense.

Things fell apart in the second half when Barcelona disintegrated Madrid's formation. In less than 11 minutes into the second half, Madrid have conceded two goals; two brilliant braces from Lewandowski.

Ancelott also confirmed that the team became slacked when they conceded their first two goals: “We missed many chances, we lost our energy when they scored…”.

“We're hurt, yes… difficult moment. But we will not give up, the season is long”.

Ancelotti: “I do not regret my gameplan”.

Madrid executed a changed game plan by making their defense more flexible and putting more energy in the forward. This according to Ancelotti was intended to hasten an equalizer for them.

Unfortunately, the game plan aggravated the situation more and led to additional concession of two goals. Lamine Yamal threw the ball into the back of the net in 77 and Raphinha sealed the game with a final goal in 84 minutes.

“I have been in football 48 years, so I'm not wrong when I tell you that the 1st half was good”.

Ancelott who spoke unhurt about their defeat revealed that it was not their first time losing 4-0 to Barcelona. He reminded the public that the first time they lost to Barcelona, they ended up winning La Liga and Champions League.
