German Women Dominate And Win England Women In Friendlies
Germany took on the indomitable England today at Wembley stadium and defeated them hands-down in the European championship friendlies.
The game is seen in some quarters as a rematch of the 2022 final which saw the Lionesses triumph and claim the title for the first time.
Germany has suppressed England to a 4-3 victory. The game is replete with many penalty goals. Three of the seven goals in the match were penalty goals. Germany cleared two penalty goals and left the remaining one for England.
G. Gwinn netted two goals, one of which was a penalty goal in 11 minutes. She scored the opening goal in 4 minutes into the match. K.Bühl scored the third goal for Germany in 29 minutes and S. Däbritz netted Germany third penalty goal in 72 minutes.
Three England goals were produced by G. Stanway and L. Bronze. Stanway scored two goals; one was a fantastic brace in 33 minutes and the other was a penalty goal in 36 minutes. L. Bronze turned up for England at the time the team desperately needed an equalizer. He scored a brace in 81 minutes to give England the hope of an equalizer.
The game lasted for 90+7 minutes, and England could not help but be subjected to a raw defeat.
