Caf Champions League: Rangers, Remo Stars Off To Flying Start

By Chimezie Nebolisa

Enugu Rangers and Remo Stars secured victories in their respective opening qualifying rounds of the CAF Champions League.

Rangers edged past Comoros' Zilimadjou 1-0 in Uyo, with Frank Uwumiro's goal proving decisive. The Nigerian side will be aiming to emulate the feat of Enyimba, the last Nigerian club to win the continental crown in 2004.

Meanwhile, Remo Stars overcame a scare to defeat former champions FAR Rabat of Morocco 2-1. The victory sets up an intriguing return leg in Rabat.

Both Nigerian clubs will be looking to progress to the group stage and ultimately challenge for the coveted title.
