Olympics 2024: Morocco Thrash Egypt 6-0 In Men’s Football To Claim Bronze
Morocco clinched their first ever medal in football at the Olympic games, after thrashing Egypt 6-0 in the bronze medal match of the Paris 2024 games on Thursday.
The Moroccans have now joined Nigeria (Gold, Silver, Bronze), Cameroon (Gold) and Ghana (Bronze) as the only African teams to win a medal in football at the Olympic games.
In Thursday’s game, Abde Ezzalzouli opened the scoring for Morocco on 23 minutes before Soufiane Rahimi made it 2-0 just three minutes later.
In the 51st minute El Khannous got the third goal while Rahimi added the fourth on 64 minutes.
Akram Nakach made it 5-0 on 73 minutes while Achraf Hakimi completed the rout with the sixth goal with three minutes left.
The final of the men’s football event will be between hosts France and Spain on Friday.
