Maguire, A Top Player And Professional – Bassey

Fulham and Super Eagles defender, Calvin Bassey has described Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire as a top-quality defender and professional.

Speaking with the media, Bassey revealed that the England international was one of the players that he looked up to as a defender.

Despite huge criticising from some section of the media, Bassey noted that Maguire still remains an exceptional talent.

“At the time I was coming through the ranks and he was one of the players I looked up to and still do, he’s a quality player. Now that I’m playing on the opposite side, he plays on the opposite side, just giving me some advice like any top player would. He was incredible at Leicester and still is. To do what he did for Leicester was amazing,” he said.

Maguire has been constantly criticised for his indifferent form since his arrival at the Old Trafford and was stripped of his captaincy by manager Erik Ten Hag at the beginning of the current campaign.
