Real Madrid and Eden Hazard have agreed on mutual consent to terminate the player’s contract after four injury-ravaged seasons.

Hazard joined Real from Chelsea in 2019 for a fee of €115 million and was presented to up to 50 000 supporters at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He made just 54 league appearances, including six this season, and scored seven goals.

A club statement from Madrid read: "Real Madrid Football Club and Eden Hazard have reached an agreement whereby the player will leave the club as of 30 June 2023. Real Madrid would like to express our affection to Eden Hazard and we wish him and his family the best of luck for the next stage of his career."
