Rugby: Villiere Out Of Autumn Series After Surgery

By Chimezie Nebolisa

France international Gabin Villiere will undergo further ankle surgery which will rule him out of the Six Nations champions’ autumn internationals.

The 26-year-old had picked up the injury back in May during his team Toulon’s European Challenge Cup final defeat to Lyon, and underwent surgery in June. The surgery had some slight complications with the ligament which was completely broken, delaying his return, and ruled him out of France’s tour of Japan in July.

He is expected to return at the end of November after France’s autumn tests against Australia, South Africa and Japan.

Valliere have made 12 appearance for France but have not featured in any of his club’s fixtures this season.
