Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum disclosed that his players are ready for today’s third-place clash against the Copper Queens of Zambia despite the absence of some vital members of the squad.

Halimat Ayinde and Rasheedat Ajibade will not feature in the encounter as a result of the red cards they received in the semi-final defeat against Morocco while the team’s captain has also been ruled out of the match due to the hamstring she sustained in the last match and some others players who are set to miss today’s action.

Coach Waldrum stated during the pre-match press conference, that although some players will be missing in action in the Zambia clash later in the evening, the team will still go all out there with their best legs for a victory.

“We have two players suspended as a result of red cards in the last game, and we also have some players down with an injury,” Waldrum told a press conference.

“So, there will be changes but we will go for the best legs that would give us victory on Friday,” he said.

Falcons’ may have failed to qualify for the final but will be looking to lay their hands on the last available set of medals as consolation for their outing in Morocco, when they set their feet on the pitch for the final time in the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tonight.
