Manchester City midfielder has been named 2019/2020 Premier League player of the season following his impressive performances in the competition.

The Belgian midfielder equalled Thierry Henry's record of 20 assists in a single season, the most in the history of the competition.

De Bruyne beat Liverpool trio of Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander Arnold, and Sadio Mane, Jordon Ings, Nick Pope and Jamie Vardy to the award.

He enjoyed his most productive season since he joined Manchester City by scoring 13 goals and recording 20 assists even as City failed to defend their League crown.

Trent Alexander Arnold has been named the Young player of the year, while Jurgen Klopp won the Coach of the year award after guiding Liverpool to their first league title in 30 years.

De Bruyne was the only Manchester City player to be nominated after the club fell short of their usual high standard to finish 18 points behind Liverpool.
