Bundesliga: Bayern Beat Monchegladbach Without Lewandoski, Haaland On Target Again

Bayern Munich recorded a 2-1 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1 to move a step closer to wrapping up their 8th consecutive Bundesliga title.

The Bavarians were without their star strikers, Robert Lewandoski and Thomas Muller, who were suspended for the match.

Bayern Munich were far from their usual best as they missed the decisiveness of Lewandoski and Muller.

Teenage star Joshua Zirkzee opened the scoring in the 26th minutes to give Bayern Munich the lead before Benjamin Pavard diverted into his own net to restore parity for Monchengladbach.

Leon Goretzka scored the winning goal four minutes from time to hand Bayern the maximum points, as they move within one point of winning their 30th Bundesliga title.

Substitute Erling Haaland underlined his importance for Dortmund by scoring the winning goal for Dortmund in the 95th minutes to break Fortuna Dusseldorf's resistance, the match ended 1-0 in favour of Dortmund.

Frankfurt Spanked Hertha Berlin 4-1, Werder Bremen recorded a 5-1 victory over Paderborn away from home.

Wolfsburg and Freiburg played out an entertaining 2-2 draw, Union Berlin defeated Cologne 2-1.
