Okoye, who made his Super Eagles debut in an international friendly match against Brazil, when he came off the bench to replace Francis Uzoho, who limped off injured.

The Fortuna Dusseldorf Goalkeeper is excited that the Franco-German coach will continue as the Super Eagles coach for another two years.

“I’m very happy with Rohr’s two-year contract extension. He’s a great coach and I think everybody feels very comfortable with him as a coach,” Okoye told the Punch.

“He talks a lot to us players and always cares. With him as a coach, we can achieve a lot of things in the near future.”

Rohr recently extended his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation for another two years, the former Burkina Faso coach took over the Super Eagles job in 2016 and he has guided the team to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations in Egypt.

Okoye has been linked with a move away from Fortuna Dusseldorf following his lack of regular playing time; he was recently spotted in Sparta Rotterdam, which has fueled the rumours that he may be on the verge of joining the Dutch Club.
