Barcelona players will be tested for Covid-19 on Wednesday at the club's training ground before resuming individual trainings in the coming days.

Following the easing of the lockdown by the Spanish government, the Catalan club revealed that the league has been given the green light to go ahead for testing after inspecting the facilities at their training ground.

According to reports players from the top two divisions will train individually after an agreement was reached with Spain's sports and health authorities that guarantees the safety of both players and staff.

Meanwhile, the country's top division has created detailed protocols for the return to training so that proper health safeguards are observed.

Part of this involves training sessions progressing from individual to small groups and then team training.

Recall that Football in Spain was suspended in March following the outbreak of Covid-19 hence all players, coaching staffs, and other personalities involved in match-day activities must be tested before they can return to training.

There are 11 rounds of matches remaining, with Barcelona top of the table, two points clear of Real Madrid.
