Manchester United striker, Odion Ighalo said he regretted not scoring against Chelsea when he made his debut for the Old Trafford giants.

The former Watford striker joined the English club from Shanghai Shenhua on loan in the January transfer window after Marcus Rashford was ruled out for a long time due to a back injury.

Ighalo replaced Anthony Martial for his Manchester United debut few minutes later he was presented with a clear chance with only the keeper to beat, but he failed to hit the target as his effort was thwarted by Chelsea goalkeeper, Willy Caballero.

The former Super Eagles striker didn't allow the miss affect his confidence as he recovered from it with his first goal for Manchester United against Club Brugge in the Europa League.

“I was not that angry but I was thinking all through in the bus on the way to the airport that this would have been great scoring against a big team like Chelsea in my debut game for Manchester United,”

Ighalo told Nana Aba Anamoah via Instagram Live.”I didn’t like that get into me too much because there are more games to play, I thought about it a bit and look forward.”

Ighalo has scored four goals in eight matches for Manchester United since joining in the January transfer window.
