Manchester City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne has hinted on a possible City exit should the club not be able to overturn the two-year European ban.

The ban was imposed by UEFA after Man City were found guilty of breaching the financial fair play rules.

The ban will come into effect from the start of 2020-21 season.

The Belgian midfielder, dropped the exit hint during an interview with HLN. He revealed that he can't wait two years before playing the Champions League again.

"I’m just waiting a little bit. The club has told us that they will appeal the decision. And they are 100 per cent convinced that they are in the right."

"I have confidence in my club. If they are saying it’s true, then I believe them. We’ll wait and see what happens. Once there’s a final decision I will look at it."

"Two years without Champions League football would be long. One year is something I might be able to cope with."

The 28-year old also revealed his plans for life after Manchester City. He noted that his future isn’t tied to that of Pep Guardiola.

KDB said "I think Pep has said that he’ll stay until the end of next year. We’ll have to wait."

"But I’m not going to make a decision based on what he does. I have already worked under other managers."

De Bruyne has been a shining star in the team who have struggled to mount a serious title challenge this season.
