ONI HAILS REMI OYO’S REAPPOINTMENT

Ekiti State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni has hailed the reappointment of Mrs Remi Oyo as the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), describing it as well deserved.


Governor Oni, reacting to Mrs. Oyo's reappointment through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre said NAN had witnessed great turn around since Oyo became the Managing Director three years ago and it was only natural that she be reappointed.


Governor Oni, who noted that the reappointment for another three year term was an affirmation of Mrs. Oyo's contribution to NAN within the short period that she had spent, said; “Remi Oyo has been able to take NAN from just ordinary news gatherer to news disseminator, using the latest technique in news gathering and dissemination.


“Under her leadership, the news agency now competes favourably with other international news agencies and we are proud of her in Ekiti. We are proud of her achievements and the indelible marks she has put on the sand of the journalism profession and it is our prayers in Ekiti that; this shining star of our land will not dim.”


Governor Oni, who urged women in the State to emulate achievers like Remi Oyo said; “Remi Oyo has made us proud in Ekiti. She has demonstrated that she has the heart to make things better and it is my hope that our women, especially those from Ekiti will emulate her.”


While urging the NAN boss not to rest on her oars by making sure that the news agency is further positioned for better service to the country, Governor Oni said; “I have no doubt that Remi Oyo will continue to make NAN the cynosure of all eyes in the media industry and I pray that God will continue to give her the strength and wisdom to give her best.”
