CELTEL PARTNERS WITH MNET ON IDOLS WEST AFRICA

Africa is set to show the world the abundant talent it has to offer in terms of music. This is coming about through the Idols West Africa reality TV show,
sponsored by Celtel Nigeria that is set to hit the screens every Sunday starting from 18 February on DSTV.

Speaking for Celtel Nigeria at a media briefing organized by Mnet, Mr. Segun Aderinokun, the Manager BTL Activations, Celtel, spoke on Celtel's passion for making life better for Africans and the Nigerian people. He said the show was part of a global innovative strategy that was not just limited to creating music, but was also involved in developing and supporting music and potential musicians.

The General Manager of MNet, Allison Triegaardt also spoke on Mnet's commitment to making the Idols West Africa a bigger and better show for the year 2007 and on how Mnet searched the West African continent all in bid to discover and showcase the best Africa has to offer.

Mr. Adenirokun of Celtel Nigeria went on to say that, through research, it has been discovered that music has always been one of the passions of the people, especially Africans and, Celtel which operates in 15 countries was a company that cared about the people and their passions hence their involvement in the Idols West Africa show.

He went on further to state that they where identifying with the show because of its potential to discover and create international stars from the people in Africa because Celtel is a Pan African company and therefore would like to be associated in projects that showed the abundant riches available on the African continent.

Other sponsors of the West African Idols Reality show are Ecobank Nigeria who promised to “put their money where their mouth is” by supporting the show
