OTUKPO SHINES AT ACCRA GOLF MEET

By NBF News

Otukpo Golf Club was in the spotlight in Ghana on Saturday when the Benue State side engaged the famous Achimota Golf Club, Accra in a 36-hole inter-club matchplay tournament.

The proud Nigerian team was accompanied on the trip by Senate President, Mr. David Mark.

Mark said he was delighted with turnout as the event had put Otukpo, a rural setting in Benue, in the limelight.

Despite losing the matchplay by 47-34, Otukpo earned glowing plaudits from Achimota Golf Club Captain Mike Aggrey, who described them as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria.

Aggrey also noted that the display of the Benue State dancing troupe which accompanied the contingent on the visit was outstanding as it promoted Nigeria's rich cultural heritage.

The matchplay was organised to enhance close relations between Achimota and Otukpo. Achimota was founded in 1934 while the latter came into being in 2007.
