Ramires Says He Didn’t Leave Chelsea For China for the Money

Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires has insisted he did not leave the Premier League for the Chinese Super League for its crazy amounts of money and the insane wages on offer. The Brazilian became a cult hero at Stamford Bridge after helping the club win the Champions League in 2012 and the

Premier League in 2014. However, in January of this year, the 29-year-old opted to try his luck in the Far East with Jiangsu Suning – where he is

rumoured to earn a massive £200,000 per week. But that mind boggling figure apparently had nothing to do

with Ramires’ motivation for his next career move, and he claims he decided to leave Stamford Bridge purely because he wasn’t getting enough game time. “If you look at the situation I was going through at Chelsea at

the time of the transfer you will see that I was [Guus] Hiddink’s last option in my position and this was frustrating

me a lot. “The situation was only getting worse and at that moment

came the interest of the Chinese club.
“Jiangsu introduced me to a long-term project where I would be a key player, they offered me everything I could

think of and more, and I decided together with my agent and

family that this would be the best decision.
