The United Nations share the Congolese people’s pain following the demise of its famous musician and artist, globally known as Papa Wemba

The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in the DRC Maman Sambo Sidikou is deeply saddened by the news of the death ofPapa Wemba.

Papa Wemba is a legend and highly talented artist who carried high the banner of not onlythe Congolese but also the African music and culture in the world's music arena.

Papa Wemba's contribution consists of an immense and rich repertoire of songs which willmake him ever be remembered by the present and future generations.
