Launch of the USAID Master’s in Education Project

What: We invite members of the press to the launch of the U.S. Agency for International Development's (USAID) Master's in Education Project (MEP). The project aims to create a sustainable South Sudanese-led Master's in Education Project at the University of Juba's College of Education in order to address the needs of educational institutions, teachers, and students affected by conflict. The project will also strengthen South Sudan's education sector by encouraging a culture of support and empowerment for students, including women and underrepresented ethnic groups. The event will recognize the award of 20 scholarships to South Sudanese women and men to complete their Master's in Education degrees at the University of Juba.

Who: U.S. Ambassador to South Sudan Molly Phee will address approximately 100 attendees including program participants, University of Juba faculty members, staff, and students, and representatives of USAID, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and other donors and partners in the education sector.
