Obiano Closes 2015 With Special Thanksgiving
It was a glorious moment for all when the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano led the members of his cabinet and stakeholders in the state in a Special Thanksgiving Mass to close the outgoing year 2015 in the expansive Gech Auditorium in his country home in Aguleri at the weekend.
Speaking with correspondents after the Holy Mass, Governor Obiano noted that a life of Thanksgiving was very pleasing to God and expressed his profound gratitude to the Almighty God for His love, protection and provision for Ndi Anambra and Nigeria as a whole.
Casting a backward glance at the past 19 months of his administration, Governor Obiano observed that Anambra had experienced a remarkable change and thanked the people for their unflinching support all through the outgoing year.
He urged Ndi Anambra to maintain the same attitude of prayer, thanksgiving and support to his government because he was determined to build a prosperous and modern state which the citizens would be proud to be identified with.
Earlier in his Homily, Rev. Fr. Michael Muonwe had stressed the need for leaders to see their positions as a call for service because according to him, there is always a delicate balance between power and authority which must be observed by any leader who desires success.
Rev Muonwe also advised the governor’s team especially commissioners, SSAs, and SAs, to live up to
their duties since the governor could not be everywhere, which
necessitated their appointment urging them to pull their weight and ensure that the state received the benefit of their talent and experience.
Also speaking, the officiating priest and Government House
Chaplain, Rev Fr John Manafa, took time to enumerate the good works of the Obiano administration which he described as landmark achievements considering the economic situation in the country.
Fr. Manafa also urged the governor to maintain the tempo of good governance as he would be writing his name in gold.
