Yoruba movies biggest marketers

Although the Yoruba movie industry boasts of several marketers, there are however a few of them who have achieved great success in a very short time and infact, control the business. BODUNRlN repeals the big names.


Rotimi Aina Kushoro He is generally known as Baba Kush and among the marketers as Albarka Marketer. Baba Kush is a Masters degree holder in Business Administration from ESUT. His love for home video business started when he was studying in Enugu. He is the first marketer to introduce English actors into Yoruba movies. Initially, he was condemned for this initiative,but now, others have followed suit. In the Yoruba movie industry, he is also the first to promote movies on billboards which he first experimented with Ale Ariwo. Some of his other works include, Arobafin, Ibinu Elewon, Sweet Banana, Omo Ekun, Omode Olowo, Irunmu Lowo.


Femi Adelakun He is the CEO of Century Pictures and is popularly known by his counterparts as Femi Baba Nla.Femi holds an HND in marketing. He developed his love for Showbiz as an undergraduate of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro. Immediately after his graduation, Femi felt the best way he could help the showbiz industry is to go into the movie marketing business. And after a few years of his foray into the
business, he has become a force to reckon with.


Prince Adekunle Owoade He is the CEO of Millennium Films and Marketing. He was introduced into movie marketing by his friend, Femi Adelakun. They both attended the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, where they studied Marketing. An HND holder, Prince is less than three years-old in the business, but his works depict that of one who has been there for long. Prince had once worked with Citeco, Guinness and Pefac as a Marketing Executive before joining the Movie Marketing business.


Femi Odunuga He is the CEO of Gemini Films, an outfit named after his Zodiac sign. Also an HND holder in Marketing, Femi , Odunuga was also introduced into the Movie Marketing business by Femi Adelaku, the CEO of Century Pictures.


Gbenga Adewusi The CEO of Bayowa Films and Records is a specialist in sourcing for beautiful babes who are fair- complexioned, who he uses to attract the attention of his viewers. He it was, who brought Surutu, Aarinola, Lepa Shandy into limelight. His hit works include, Eja Osa", Surutu, Larin Loodu, Elebolo among others.


Rasaq Abdullahi He is the CEO of Corporate Pictures and Mercury Pictures. He is popularly called 'Chairman' especially by members of the Odunfa Caucus. A chartered accountant, he also lectures lCAN students. His coming into the industry in 1993 brought a new innovation into the business of movie marketing. He is wealthy, yet very humble. For his movies, he always go for the best artists. He also has a music label.

Segun Afolabi He is the CEO of Alawaye Ventures and the Chairman of Video Marketers and Producers Association thus earning him the title Alaga Ham Ham. He started out at Idumota as a body cream seller before he was introduced to video marketing business buy a friend in 1991.
