Lawal Olalekan Olumo known as Konga, who has been planning a serious comeback after long hiatus, from the music industry, has disclosed that his banned song song, 'Baby Konga,' almost affected his career.

The singer, whose song made lots of club hits in the early 2000s when it was released, was banned by the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) over what they termed as use of vulgar languages.

Konga explained that he was actually scared by the situation but that never discouraged him from doing music but made him work more on his language.

Speaking with Tribune newspaper, he stated, “I have always prayed to God to lift me up and let me achieve my dreams in life. Although that situation scared me, it did not discourage me. It, however, made me to withdraw a little bit, to check my language, to make sure that whatever I am bringing is well worded. I want to make sure that everyone who hears me attests that I am a world-class musician. It was a challenge that has put me on the right path.”
