Aston Villa are interested in signing Barcelona winger Adama Traore, Sky sources understand.

The 19-year-old has been the subject of interest from a number of Premier League clubs, but reports in Spain hint that Villa Park will be his eventual destination.

Spanish newspaper AS has gone as far as saying the player, who prefers to be known as Adama, will sign a three-year deal with an option for a fourth.

Liverpool and Stoke City were also looking at the teenager who played for Barcelona’s B team last season.

The Spain U19 international has been with Barcelona since 2004, when he joined them as an eight-year-old.

He was promoted to the club’s B team in 2013 and played his first La Liga game when he was 17, but Barcelona’s second string were relegated last season and Adama was reportedly not keen on plying his trade in Spain’s third tier.

Villa boss Tim Sherwood was asked about Adama over the weekend, but would only say: “He's a good player, but at the moment he's Barcelona's player.”
