Gov Wike appoints Okocha chief Judge of Rivers State, recalls sacked lecturers

The new Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, just hours after he was sworn in announced the appointment of Justice Daisy Okocha as the Chief Judge of the state.

According to reports, Wike made the appointment after being sworn-in by the Chief Judge of Bayelsa state, Justice Kate Abiri.

He also directed that all the reopening of  state-owned courts, which had been under lock for a long time.

The Governor of Rivers state further announced the reinstatement of some lecturers of the Rivers state University of Science and Technology who were relieved by the Amaechi-led administration.

The new governor who has endured strained relationship with his predecessor said a few days before being sworn in that he would probe the out-gone of the state, especially with regard to the n4.5 billion spent on conducting local government elections despite court order barring it.
