SAN FRANCISCO, May 07, (THEWILL) – The embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Adamu Muazu, has been taunting the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose, on twitter over his insistence that the Muazu-led NWC of the party should resign following the defeat suffered by the PDP in the general elections.

Fayose, who also accused the NWC of fraud, said if provoked further he would provide evidence of misappropriation of party funds by Muazu and the NWC. He also said he would provide evidence that the party chair worked for the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the polls, where President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP failed to win re-election.

But Muazu in a series of rants on Thursday responded saying: “We hope it’s not the kind of evidence he once said he had that Buhari was dying?”

“We challenge Governor Fayose to come out with the evidence that shows National Chairman worked for APC during the elections.”

The PDP has been in crisis since it was handed a painful defeat in the last general elections. The national executive of the party has been at war with governors of the party and aides of President Goodluck Jonathan over the control of the party machinery as it prepares to assume the role of opposition.

The President has however waded into the dirty fight and directed all factions to end the bickering that could destroy the once powerful party that has ruled Nigeria since 1999 when democracy was restored.
