…Prophet TB Joshua Preaches, as 80cm tall Evelyn is assisted.
“Today there are large numbers of youths out on the streets, crying that they cannot find a job to do. If you decide to do this job – the job of God - you will be surprised by the way God will touch your life”. These were the words of Prophet TB Joshua of The Synagogue Church Of All Nations on Sunday 6thDecember 2009.
The story of Evelyn Cosey is indeed one with the capability to touch the mind of anybody on the surface of the earth. A 300 Level student of Computer Science at Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, Edo State, she decided to come to The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, to meet with Prophet TB Joshua who had impressed her in the past with his charitable acts to widows, widowers, the weak, the physically challenged, downtrodden and others.
On Sunday 22ndNovember 2009, during the second service at The Synagogue Church Of All Nations, Evelyn came to the church with her friend Christiana, to ask for the support of Prophet TB Joshua. At the church, the ushers insisted that she be taken to the Children's Department of the church due to her physical stature, which depicted her as a kid. Her friend Christiana had to enter into the church alone after trying without any success to explain to the ushers that Evelyn was an adult, aged 27 years and a 300 level student of Computer Science at Ambrose Ali University, Edo State.
The next Sunday, 29th November 2009, she was amazingly spotted by Prophet TB Joshua during the second service. He went over to her and asked her some questions. Hear him:
Prophet TB Joshua: What is your name and what do you do?
Evelyn Cosey:My name is Evelyn Cosey, I am 27 years old and I am a 300 level student of Computer Science at Ambrose Ali University, Edo State.
Prophet TB Joshua: Wow. So why are you here today?
Evelyn Cosey:I came here because I want you to help me. Because I am small and short, when I finish school I will not be able to get a job, and I don't want to beg. So I want you to help me.
Prophet TB Joshua: Don't worry. I want to be your friend. I will support you. Those people that think that they are tall, they will come to you to ask you to give them a job.
The large hall of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations was stunned to see Evelyn, testify that she was 27 years of age. This is because her height and physical frame gave her out as a kid of about 3-5 years of age.
The whole episode of Evelyn and her dear friend Christiana came to a joyful end. On Sunday 6th, December 2009, during the first service at The Synagogue Church Of All Nations, Christiana came out to narrate the deplorable condition that Evelyn was living in before she met her.
“My name is Christiana Ehizua. I am a graduate of Ambrose Ali University, Edo State. When I was about to graduate, I met my friend Evelyn. She was crying when I met her. I asked her why she was crying and she said she did not have anybody to help her and to be her friend. I told her to stop crying that I would be her friend. I took her home to stay with me and we have been friends since then.”
Continuing, she said: “I bathe her, wash her clothes and sometimes carry her on my back because she cannot walk by herself for a long time. When I was about to go for my NYSC (compulsory service period for fresh graduates), I took her to my parents to stay with them. I paid advance transport fares to taxis to pick her up at home and drop her after school. I could not search for a job because of her needs that I have to meet. She told me that I must bring her down to see Prophet TB Joshua at The Synagogue Church Of All Nations. And that is why we came here.”
Prophet TB Joshua appealed to members of the public to assist people like Evelyn and embrace them like every other normal human being without discriminating against them. He praised Christiana for her efforts in ensuring that Evelyn never lacked love and care, challenging the congregation and viewers to follow her example and become a solution to someone in need. Prophet TB Joshua presented Evelyn with a brand new Nissan car and the sum of N500, 000 to establish and support her and her friend Christiana.
“The Lord says I should give you a car and five hundred thousand naira (N500, 000)” he concluded.
