2015: Uduehi Declares, Pledges To Industrialise Delta

A gubernatorial hopeful in Delta State come 2015 general election, Dr (Mrs.) Esther Uduehi, has called on all Deltans and foreigners living in the state to join hands with her to walk the walk to Government House Asaba, asserting that she would strive to fully industrialize Delta State aimed at providing a robust economy that can generate employment for our teem¬ing youths through Uduaghan's vision of 'Delta Beyond Oil'.

Mrs. Uduehi gave the assurance while officially declaring her intention to run for the governorship seat of Delta State come 2015 held at The Cenotaph in Asaba, yesterday.

According to her, “my administration will strive as a matter of priority to alleviate poverty by judiciously and wholly utilizing the accruing resources of the state for all Deltans”.

“I believe that 'Oil' will not last forever and so I commend the vision of 'Delta Beyond Oil'. We shall build on it and strive to fully industrialize Delta State to provide a robust economy that can generate employment for our teeming youths and people. “We shall place great premium on food sufficiency and security to ensure that all Deltans irrespective of age, tribe or sex have food to eat and clean water to drink and can operate in secure and safe environment.

Dr. Uduehi who was flanked by her husband, Engr. Dele Uduehi, Chairman of the occasion, Gen. Philip Onyekwele, her sister and former Secretary to Delta State Government (SSG), Dr. (Mrs.) Beatrice Omeni and other chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, assured the people that she will break the jinx to become the first female Governor in Nigeria in 2015 general election.

“Government is a continuous process; therefore there will be no need in wasting the people's resources by abandoning people oriented projects of the previous administration to start self aggrandizing projects.

“We shall try to cut waste. We shall vigorously fight wast¬age and corruption in government to ensure that the accru¬ing resources of the state are judiciously and wholly used for equitable governance for the benefit of the people, Dr. Uduehi assured Deltans.

While beaming with smiles to thousands of her supporters mostly of women folk that came from the 25 local government areas in the state to join her in the solidarity declaration, Dr. Uduehi said her curriculum vitae and past tract records placed her in a better position and eminently qualified to run for the Governor of Delta State.

“With the support of my husband, Engr. Dele Uduehi and family, I, Esther Uduehi hereby declared to Deltans that I want to serve you for the office of the Governor of Delta State come 2015”, Dr. Uduehi declared.
