PDP NWC approves zoning in Akwa Ibom State

In apparent recognition of zoning and the need to keep to the letters of the party constitution, the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that it had approved the zoning of the party’s governorship slot to Eket senatorial district in Akwa Ibom state. In a statement, the National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Olisa Metuh, said that after reviewing the decision of the enlarged State Executive Committee of Akwa-Ibom state, the National Working committee (NWC) had accepted and fully endorsed the decision to zone the Akwa Ibom state governorship position to Eket Senatorial Zone. Accordingly, Metuh said the NWC expected that only aspirants from Eket Senatorial Zone would present themselves for the governorship primary election in the state. Thisday
