BEVERLY HILLS, September 17, (THEWILL) - A pastor, four pregnant women and no fewer than 45 others, including children and a soldier were killed Wednesday as yet-to-be identified gunmen stormed Fadan-Karshi villages in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Two other soldiers, who sustained varying degrees of injuries in the attack, are said to be receiving treatment at the Gwantu General Hospital, along with hundreds of other residents.

Local sources told THEWILL that the attack on the villages is the latest in the series of such attacks in the area since April in which over 300 persons, mostly women and children, had been killed.

A resident of the area, Mike Sanga, said the gunmen stormed Fadan Karshi Daji and nearby communities, setting houses, including a church, ablaze where several cars were parked.

According to Sanga, 'In our counting, 12 people were killed in Fadan Karshi, 30 in Fada Karshi Daji, seven others in another community. A pastor and another person were also killed at Ungwar Ganye.'

Corroborating him, the Vice Chairman of the Council, Pastor Bulus Mandey Anzah, disclosed that pregnant women, the elderly and children were killed while hundreds of residents were forced to flee their homes to unknown destinations.
