The weekly Executive Council of the Federation meeting did not hold yesterday as Acting President Goodluck Jonathan, last week, sacked all ministers and is now working on replacing them.

Early yesterday, Mr. Jonathan forwarded a list of ministerial nominees to the National Assembly for screening and approval. It is unlikely that any executive council meeting will take place until the new set of ministers are appointed and sworn in.

Despite the meeting – which has come to typify activities in the villa on Wednesday – not holding, the state house witnessed some significant activities.

Some governors as well as members of the ruling party were also at the presidential villa for private meetings with Mr. Jonathan. The governors of Enugu, Gombe and Kaduna as well as former senate president Adolphus Nwagbara took their turns to visit Mr. Jonathan yesterday.
