Fraudster Who Swindled Job Seekers of Over N400 Million Nabbed
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has paraded a
fraudster, Michael Ogun for defrauding innocent job seekers of over
N400 Million through the use of the internet.
Ogun who had been under security watch, opened a facebook account
impersonating the Commander General of the NSCDC. He was apprehended at
the early hours of Wednesday at his Nyanya home.
The suspect who hails from Uromi in Esan North Local Government Area of
Edo State was also involve other fraudulent act as the sum of $ 950, 000
was traced to his account. He is also alleged to have laundered the sum of
N552 Million.
According to the NSCDC Spokesman , Okeh Emmanuel , ” the scammer has so
far defrauded applicant seeking employment into the Corps, Customs ,
Immigration and other services to the tune of N403, 624 , 992.00 .
” As at time of arrest, the scammer operates fifty Bank accounts with
different names in Fidelity Bank, UBA, Skye Bank, Access Bank, Stanbic
IBTC, ECO Bank, GTB, and many others
” Therefore, from different fraudulent accounts, the total sum of N955,
996,893.50 was said to had passed through his bank accounts.”
