Delta: Uduaghan Assures On Sustenance Of Modern Health Facilities

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, June 01, (THEWILL) â€' Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has said that deliberate policies and programmes have been put in place to ensure that projects and modern health facilities provided by his administration were sustained in good condition.

The Governor gave the assurance weekend at the commissioning of the comprehensive renovation of all the old structures and provision of ultra-modern accident and emergency complex as well as a modern mortuary at the Eku Baptist Government Hospital, Eku, in Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, successive administrations in the State will not dump or neglect the health institutions and the ultra-modern facilities put in place because government has taken measures to guarantee their sustenance in the future.

'Let me assure the management of the Eku Baptist Government Hospital and the Eku community that government will sign a 5-year contract with a company to ensure that the equipment and facilities at the hospital remains in good condition', he stated.

He said that the hospital has a history, patronized by people from different parts of the country, adding that, the reconstruction and comprehensive re-equipping of the hospital came as a result of the Nigeria Baptist Convention and the Eku community's call on government to take over the hospital.

Dr Uduaghan disclosed that the hospital was to be made the Delta State Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH) but such had to be stopped because of complaint from some individuals in the community, adding that DELSUTH had to be moved to Oghara when it became impossible to make the Eku Baptist Government Hospital a teaching hospital.
