The Lagos Waste Management Authority, LAWMA, has attributed the agency's achievement in making the state clean to God's grace.

Mr. Oladimeji Oresanya, the agency's managing director, stated this at a thanksgiving service held recently at the agency's headquarters at Ijora, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

Oresanya said the purpose of the annual thanksgiving is to express gratitude to God and the staff of the agency for their contribution to the success of the agency.

'Thanksgiving is the only way to express our gratitude to God for being with us. Apart from all the safety measures we put in place, the God factor is the key to our success.

'It is also to show gratitude to our employer and express our recommitment to duty,' Oresanya stated.

Speaking at the event, the Lagos State Head of Service, Mrs. Seyi Williams, commended the staff for their efforts in making the state clean, but also charged them to raise the bar of their performance.

The Commissioner For The Environment, Dr. Tunji Bello, also commended the management and staff of LAWMA for contributing their quota to achieve the mega city status for the state.

Clerics who preached at the event include Very Reverend S. E. B. Adegbite, from Tinubu Methodist Church and Alhaji Imam Zakariya Mohammed Thanni, missioner of Ansarudeen,   Lagos State branch.

The clerics charged the management of the agency not to relent in giving thanks to God in all their dealings in order to attract more favour from the Almighty.
