DANGCEM helps NSE to marginal 0.02% gain

The Nigerian Stock Exchange made a marginal gain on the opening day of the week helped by gain by the highly capitalized Dangote Cement Plc.

The market a marginal gain of 0.02% to bring the YtD returns to -6.70%. Ex-DANGCEM, market lost 0.17%. All NSE sectorial indices closed positive save for NSEINS10 and NSEOILG5 which lost 0.75% and 0.10% respectively.

The market mood (1.16x) favoured 29 advancers as against 25 decliners. CUTIX led the gainers' chart, returning 5% closely followed by PORTPAINT and JBERGER which returned 4.99% and 4.98% respectively. The losers' chart on the other hand was led by NASCON, AGLEVENT and CADBURY, each shedding 5.06%, 5.00% and 4.94% in that order.

Volume and value traded declined by 23.8% and 13.2% respectively. Financial Services stocks were the most traded by volume with ACCESS, GUARANTY and FBNH occupying the top positions in the list.
