Official Orange CHAN 2014 sponsor POWER HORSE invited players of Santos Cape Town to the tournament final

Austrian premium energy drink company POWER HORSE is highly passionate about football in Africa and has thus invited players of Santos FC, Cape Town's second tier top team, to the Orange CHAN 2014 final last Saturday.

The top notch tickets and several goodies were handed over to “The People's Team” by one of Africa's greatest football talents, Nigerian international Morenikeji Taofeek Akanbi. Akanbi, who dropped out of Nigeria's squad for Orange CHAN 2014 last minute being side-lined with an injury, is the premium energy drink's new testimonial for the African market. The Nigeria and Crown FC striker will be part of POWER HORSE's coming promotion campaign all over the continent.

“We were delighted about the gesture, as our club is part of the pedigree of football in South Africa in general, and in Cape Town in particular”, Club Chairman Allie Goolam said. “Also receiving the Power Horse gift from a top talent like Taofeek is a special experience,” he added.

Santos was founded in 1982 and is based in Lansdowne. The 2001/2 champions were relegated in an unlucky Play-Off campaign two years ago, but are on their way back into the Premier League. POWER HORSE has decided to become a major partner of CHAN, as the energy drink with the black stallion logo has signed a multi-year-deal to be main sponsor of the continent's major football competition in 2014 and 2016.

Founded in 2004, POWER HORSE established its products as a leading brand in the premium segment of energy drinks. POWER HORSE is actually represented in more than 50 countries worldwide and has branch offices in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and San Francisco (USA).The product range includes the classic POWER HORSE regular, the calorie reduced POWER HORSE sugarfree and the flavored POWER HORSE Energy Cola. The company was the first European energy drink brand that introduced a cola based version of an energy drink.
