51 Civilians , One Soldier Shot Dead by Boko Haram in Borno Fresh Attack

At least 51 people and one soldier have been shot dead in a fresh attack

by suspected Boko Haram terrorist on a market day in Kauwuri , Konduga

Local Government Area, Borno State, a source told Pointblanknews.com

Modu Aisami, a resident of Kawuri said he and other people counted 51

Civilian and one Military dead bodies scattered in different parts of

the town.
Borno State commissioner of Police, Lawal Tanko also confirmed the

incident but decline to give details
” I received an intelligent information that Kawuri town was attacked by

suspected Boko Haram terrorists believed to be on a revenge mission on

Market day (Sunday), where many civilians were killed while several others

were left with serious burnt wounds before they set the whole places on

fire, we have deployed our men to the area and very soon I will feed you

with details”. Tanko said .
The Police Commissioner added that ” some policemen sustained injury as a

result of the attack but no death was recorded”
“Our village was last night attacked by suspected Boko Haram group. Where

51 persons and a Soldier were killed and over 300 houses and shops

were set ablaze .
” The attack occured at about 5pm , yesterday which was our market day,

as I speak, many residents still taking refuge in the bush.

” Many traders and residents sustained burnt injuries and are now

receiving treatment at Konduga General Hospital and the University of

Maiduguri Teaching Hospital” Aisami said.
