Chelsea winger Moses spotted at Anfield after signing loan deal with Liverpool

Liverpool have signed Chelsea winger Victor Moses on a season-long loan.

The Nigeria international was spotted in the Anfield crowd during his new side’s 1-0 victory over rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers is also close to finalising deals for Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho and his fellow centre-half Tiago Llori of Sporting Lisbon.

Both players underwent medicals on Saturday and were seen sitting with Moses during the game.

West Brom and Stoke were also interested in former Crystal Palace player Moses but Brendan Rodgers has convinced the 22-year-old his short-term future lies at Anfield.

The deal, which will cost the Merseyside club £1.5million, makes Moses the sixth summer arrival at Anfield following Iago Aspas, Simon Mignolet, Luis Alberto, Aly Cissokho and Kol Toure.

Moses is surplus to requirements at Chelsea after Jose Mourinho signed attacking midfielders Willian and Andre Schurrle this summer.

The forward, who signed for the Blues from Wigan last summer, was not part of Mourinho’s squad for the Super Cup defeat to Bayern Munich on Friday.

He will now battle with the likes of Aspas, Raheem Sterling and Phillipe Coutinho for a place in Liverpool’s starting XI.
