New NGO Lift Stratum to build enterprise capacity in women and youth of the South East

Lagos, Nigeria; June 17, 2013: Building a stronger foundation and pathways for the acclaimed entrepreneurial drive of the people of South East Nigeria is the focus of a new NGO, Lift Stratum Gte, which formally takes off Tuesday June 18 with a formal launch at Nike Lake Hotel Enugu.

Lift Stratum, according to its CEO Mrs Nwanneka Okolo, has as goal “transforming lives through entrepreneurship development” and would offer training, capacity development, as well as mentorship for budding entrepreneurs in the South East.

The Chief Executive Officer of Lift Stratum is a former regional head at First Bank of Nigeria plc and a lawyer.

Elder Kalu U. Kalu, former chairman of Union Bank of Nigeria, chairs the star studded Board of Lift Stratum with members including Msgr Obiora Ike, Group MD of Diamond Bank Dr Alex Otti, former Information Minister Mr Frank Nweke Jnr, Mr Tayo Adenaike, and Dr Ifediora Amobi. Other members of the Board are Prof Chidi Onyia, Chief Loretta Aniagolu, Dr virgy Anohu, Dr Ikeazor Akaraiwe and Prof Nkadi Onyegebu.

Founder of Fate Foundation, the first entrepreneurship development agency for young people in Nigeria, Mr Fola Adeola is one of two patrons that includes the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Prof Bartho Okolo.

Dr Alex Otti would present a key note address on “Transforming the economic landscape in the South East through entrepreneurship” at the formal launch of Lift Saxum Gte on Tuesday.
