ONI MOURNS EKITI DEPUTY GOVERNOR

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni has described the death of the State Deputy Governor, Mrs Funmilayo Olayinka as a loss, not only to the people of Ekiti State but to the entire country.

Reacting to the deputy governor's death through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Lere Olayinka, the former governor, who said he was saddened and pained by the death added that; “Mrs Olayinka will be sorely missed by her friends, associates, admirers and family members as well as the entire State."

Oni implored the family, the Ewi-in-council, the entire people of Ado-Ekiti and the entire people of Ekiti State to take solace in the fact that the deputy governor contributed her quotas to the development of the State.

"The death of Mrs Olayinka is no doubt a loss to the people of Ekiti State and we will continue to pray, trusting that God in His infinite mercies will grant her soul eternal rest.

"I urge the government and the entire people of Ekiti State to be consoled by the fact that death is the inevitable end of all mortals and it must come when it would come.

"It is also my prayer that the good Lord will grant the deceased eternal rest and also grant her family, the Ewi-in-council, the people of Ado-Ekiti and the entire State the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

"May her soul rest in peace,"Oni said.
