Huge Explosion, Gunfire Rock Kano

SAN FRANCISCO, April 04, (THEWILL) – A huge explosion followed by sporadic gunfire rocked the Danji roundabout in Kano metropolis on Thursday night.

A team of security personnel from the joint military task force (JTF) have cordoned off the area where the explosion occurred.

JTF Kano spokesman, Captain Ikedi Iweha confirmed the blast saying, no casualty was recorded.

No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion. However, the radical terrorist group Boko Haram and a splinter Islamic fundamentalist group have claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks in the north.

A deadly attack which targeted a commercial luxury bus at a bus terminal in Kano a few weeks ago, killed more than 25 persons, according to local reports.
