Police nab three suspected kidnappers in Enugu

Men of the Nsukka division of the Nigeria Police Force, Enugu State command have nabbed three suspected kidnappers.

A police source said the three suspects identified as Idenyi Charles, Nnamdi Eze Jude and Emeka Ugwuoke were arrested on Wednesday after a distress call to the police when they stormed the residence of one Ejike Ekwunife at Ogwurugwu Road Nsukka.

The source hinted that some concerned members of the public had on sighting the suspected kidnappers made distress call to the police.

'When we arrived at the place, we apprehended the suspects and on the process recovered one berreta and a locally made pistol as well as a Mercedes Benz Car from them', said the police source.

The commissioner of police in the State, Mr. Musa Daura who confirmed the incident said investigations have commenced on the matter.

While applauding the doggedness of the police officers involved in the arrest, he added that 'the suspects are helping the police in the investigations'.

Daura also commended the members of the public who gave the police timely and prompt information.
